Diweddariad – Update

Mae’n teimlo fel sbel ers i ni ddiweddaru chi i gyd diwethaf. Mae Glenda a minnau wedi bod yn brysur yn cwblhau llawer o waith gweinyddol yn ystod yr wythnosau diwethaf megis cyfrifiad blynyddol, adolygu polisïau ysgol yn enwedig y gweithdrefnau cloi ysgolion.  Bydd mwy o fanylion am hyn yn dilyn maes o law ond cofiwch ein bod yn diweddaru ein Facebook a SeeSaw yn rheolaidd gyda lluniau a gweithgareddau.

It feels like a while since we last updated you all. Glenda and I have had a lot of admin work to complete in the last few weeks such as annual census, review of school policies especially the school lockdown procedures.  More details of this will follow in due course but please remember we regularly update our Facebook and SeeSaw with photos and activities.

Absenoldeb a phrydlondeb – Cofiwch fod gennym bellach beiriant ateb penodedig i gofnodi absenoldebau disgyblion, mae hyn yn sicrhau ein bod yn gallu cofnodi ar gofrestr yr ysgol y rhesymau cywir pam nad yw’r disgybl yn yr ysgol. Hefyd, galluogi ni i gloi giatiau mewn modd amserol yn unol â pholisi’r ysgol a hysbysu Anti Eirian o niferoedd cinio ysgol.


Important 

Absence and punctuality –  Please remember that we now have a designated answer machine to record pupil absences, this ensures that we can record on the school register the correct reasons for the pupil not being in school. Also, enable us to lock gates in a timely manner as per school policy and advise Anti Eirian of school lunch numbers.

Digwyddiadau Diweddar

Mae wedi bod yn wythnosau prysur iawn yma yn Ysgol Pentrecelyn, dyma rai o’r uchafbwyntiau

  • I ddathlu Dydd Miwsig Cymru mwynhaodd y disgyblion ddisgo tawel yn neuadd yr ysgol.
  • Mwynhaodd Cabinet yr Ysgol eu sesiwn gyda Saran yn dylunio eu ‘Gwefan Siarter Iaith’
  • Cafodd yr ysgol gyfan sgwrs addysgiadol gan PC Llinos yn eu hatgoffa o bwysigrwydd cadw’n ddiogel
  • Mynychodd disgyblion o Flynyddoedd 5 a 6 berfformiad prynhawn Matilda yn Ysgol Brynhyfryd
  • Mynychodd ein disgybl Blwyddyn 6 weithdy Dyniaethau yn Ysgol Brynhyfryd fel rhan o’i bontio i’r ysgol uwchradd.
  • Cynhalwyd sesiwn ‘Dwylo Bach’ gan y Mudiad Meithrin yn ystod sesiwn Ti a Fi yma yn yr ysgol.  Roedd hi yn hyfryd gweld yr holl wynebau newydd yma yn yr ysgol.

Recent Events 

It has been a very busy few weeks here at Ysgol Pentrecelyn, here are a few of the highlights

  • To celebrate Welsh Music Day the pupils enjoyed a silent disco in the school hall.
  • The school Cabinet pupils enjoyed their session with Saran designing their ‘Welsh Charter Website’
  • The whole school had an informative talk from PC Llinos reminding them of the importance of keeping safe 
  • Pupils from Years 5 & 6 attended the matinee performance of Matilda at Ysgol Brynhyfryd
  • Our Year 6 pupil attended a Humanities workshop at Ysgol Brynhyfryd as part of his transition to high school.
  • There was a successful ‘Dwylo Bach’ session here during the ‘Ti a Fi’ session, it was lovely to see so many new faces.

  • Bydd cyfarfod PTFA yma yn yr ysgol dydd Mawrth 18/2/25 am 5:30pm 
  • Bydd gwersi nofio i ddisgyblion Derbyn i Flwyddyn 6 ar y dyddiadau canlynol.  Byddwn yn gadael yr ysgol ar ôl cinio ar y dydd Gwener yma ac yn ôl yn yr ysgol am 2:30.

  • Prosiect Crefft –  Byddwn yn ymuno â disgyblion Ysgol Bro Elwern ac Ysgol Betws GG i ymgymryd â Phrosiect Celf gyffrous yng Nghanolfan Grefft Rhuthun.  Miss Bethan Hughes fydd yn arwain y prosiect.  Mae Bethan M. Hughes yn artist sy’n gweithio gyda thecstiliau, gan arbenigo mewn cwiltio a brodwaith.  Bydd y prosiect yn dathlu treftadaeth tecstiliau cyfoethog Cymru gan ganolbwyntio ar greu cwiltiau, sy’n ymgorffori ail-ddefnyddio defnyddiau ac bydd y plant hefyd yn ymchwilio nodweddion cynllunio unigryw y cwiltiau Cymreig, yn aml wedi eu hysbrydoli gan y byd naturiol, er mwyn creu cwilt newydd. Bydd y plant yn cael y cyfle i greu eu motifau cyfoes eu hunain i’w cynnwys wrth ochr motifau traddodiadol fel dail, calonnau, troellau malwen a’r gellygen Gymreig.

Next

  • There will be a PTFA meeting here at the school Tuesday 18/2/25 at 5:30pm  
  • Swimming lessons for pupils in Reception to Year 6 on the following dates.  We will be leaving school after lunch on these Fridays and will be back in school for 2:30ish.

  •  Art and craft Project – We will be joining the pupils of Ysgol Bro Elwern and Ysgol Betws GG to undertake an exciting Art Project at the Ruthin Craft Centre.  Miss Bethan Hughes will lead the project.  Bethan M. Hughes is an artist who works with textiles, specializing in quilting and embroidery.  The project will celebrate the rich textile heritage of Wales focusing on creating quilts, which incorporate the reuse of materials and the children will also investigate the unique design features of Welsh quilts, often inspired by the natural world, in order to create a new quilt. The children will have the opportunity to create their own contemporary motifs to be included alongside traditional motifs such as leaves, hearts, snail spirals and the Welsh pear.

Hoffai’r Corff llywodraethol a’r staff longyfarch Mr Andrew Evans ar basio cymhwyster Arolygwr Estyn dwys yng Nghaerdydd yn ddiweddar. Dyma bluen arall i’n het yma yn Ysgol Pentrecelyn wrth i ni edrych ymlaen at adeiladu a datblygu ymhellach trwy ddefnyddio’r arferion gorau yn ein hysgol a’n cymuned.

Congratulations

The governing body and staff would like to congratulate Mr Andrew Evans on passing an intense Estyn Inspector training recently in Cardiff. This is another feather to our bow here at Ysgol Pentrecelyn as we look forward to further building and developing by utilising the best practices in our school and community.

Dyddiad cau cofrestru i gystadlu yn holl gystadlaethau llwyfan a maes Eisteddfod yr Urdd Dydd Llun nesaf, y 17eg o Chwefror am 23:59.

Sicrhewch eich bod chi wedi gwirio fod pob plentyn sy’n bwriadu cystadlu yn aelod o’r Urdd cyn gynted â phosib cyn eu cofrestru.

Closing dates Urdd Eisteddfod 

The closing date to compete in all stage and field competitions in Eisteddfod yr Urdd 2025 is next Monday, the 17th of February at 23:59.

Please ensure that every child/young person who wishes to compete is a member of the Urdd as soon as possible before registering to compete.
