URGENT Storm Eunice School Closures PWYSIG

Neges bwysig gan y Sir – Important message from County

Dear all

Yn dilyn e-byst blaenorol ynglŷn â’r storm sydd ar y gweill, mae’r sefyllfa wedi datblygu.      Mae’r Swyddfa Dywydd wedi cyhoeddi Rhybudd Tywydd ar gyfer Gogledd Cymru a allai achosi aflonyddwch sylweddol ac amgylchiadau peryglus oherwydd gwyntoedd cryfion iawn.

Yn dilyn trafodaethau mewnol, rhanbarthol a Chenedlaethol rydym wedi gwneud y penderfyniad anodd i ofyn i bob ysgol symud i ddysgu o bell (gorau allwch chi o ystyried byr rybudd) ar gyfer dydd Gwener 18.02.22.    Nid yw’r penderfyniad hwn wedi’i wneud yn ysgafn ac fe’i gwnaed i sicrhau diogelwch yr holl ddisgyblion, staff, rhieni ac ymwelwyr ar safleoedd ysgolion.

Bydd datganiad yn cael ei gyhoeddi cyn gynted â phosibl ac yn y cyfamser rhowch wybod i’ch teuluoedd a sicrhau bod trefniadau ar waith.

Gwnaed y penderfyniad hwn yn unol a Rheoliadau Rheoli Safleoedd Ysgol 2008 ac adran 29(5) o Ddeddf Addysg 2002. Gall awdurdodau gyfarwyddo ysgolion (ac eithrio ysgolion sefydledig, ysgolion arbennig sefydledig ac ysgolion gwirfoddol a gynorthwyir) i gau ar sail diogelwch.

Ymddiheuriadau am y byr rybudd

Geraint a Huw

Dear all

Following previous emails regarding the impending storm the situation has progressed.      The Met Office have issued a Weather Warning for North Wales that could cause significant disruption and dangerous conditions due to extremely strong winds.

Following internal, regional and National discussions we have taken the difficult decision to ask all schools to move to remote learning (best endeavours based on short notice) for Friday 18.02.22.    This decision has not been taken lightly and was taken to ensure the safety of all pupils, staff, parents and visitors to school sites.

Communications will be published as quickly as possible and in the meantime please inform your families and ensure arrangements are in place.

This decision was taken by virtue of the Control of School Premises Regulations 2008 and section 29(5) of the Education Act 2002. Authorities may direct schools (except foundation, foundation special schools and voluntary aided schools) to close on safety grounds.

Apologies for the short notice

Geraint and Huw
